Raymond L. Niblock
Trial Attorney. Mediator. Storyteller.
Rooted in Arkansas, my journey has taken me from Colorado summers climbing the Front Range to military school at fifteen in New Mexico and service as a U.S. Army Reserve officer during Desert Storm. This ultimately led me to study law and practice in the firm my father established in 1961.
Since 1994, I've dedicated myself to advocating for clients in the courtroom, but I've come to embrace mediation as a superior method for resolving most disputes. Trained in the late 1990s, I've guided hundreds of clients through mediation and have selectively practiced as a mediator for the past ten years. Now, I'm expanding this facet of my professional life, offering civil mediation services to bring parties together and resolve disputes.
My passion for storytelling took off with the debut novel I published in 2023 under the imprint, Bishop's Trust, called The Last Independence Day: Secession, a political thriller exploring a fractured America on the brink of collapse. The narrative unapologetically delves into themes of political extremism, civil rights, and the resilience of the human spirit. Then, after marrying my husband in 2021, a life-changing journey to Iceland deepened my creative pursuits. The island's stark beauty and rich folklore inspired my first work of literary fantasy, Huldufólk: A Modern Icelandic Folktale, weaving Icelandic myths with contemporary themes of identity, transformation, and the quiet magic of survival. I completed the manuscript in May 2025 and seek a literary agent to represent me.
Whether navigating legal disputes in court, settling disputes through mediation, or crafting narratives that delve into myth and meaning, I am committed to uncovering truths and telling stories that resonate. When I'm not doing law-related things or sitting at the writing desk, I take to the skies, piloting a small aircraft to explore new horizons with my husband.
